ORGANIZERS OF A FIRST ANNUAL OCTOBER FESTIVAL IN WARROAD TOMORROW EVENING AND SATURDAY HAVE ANNOUNCED IT WILL BE HELD IN SPITE OF THE WEATHER. ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO ENCLOSE TENTS, AND BRING IN PROPANE HEATERS. THAT EVENT HAS FAMILY ACTIVITIES AND LIVE PERFORMERS. FOOD VENDORS ON SATURDAY INCLUDE WARROAD ROBOTICS, AREA GIRL SCOUTS, AND KIDPRENUER. EVERYTHING IS LOCATED AT THE POINT IN WARROAD.

THE FIRST UNITED LUTEHRAN CHURCH IN ROSEAU HAS THEIR 8TH ANNUAL FALL MEATBALL SUPPER THIS SUNDAY (4-7).

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR THOMAS WHELAN OF FARGO, FORMERLY OF ROSEAU, WILL BE HELD TOMORROW (4 PM) AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU. VISITION WILL BE ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE. INTERMET WILL BE AT HOPE CEMETERY IN ROSEAU. THOMAS WHELAN WAS 74.

THE MINNESOTA D.N.R. AND U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE COMPLETED A LAND SWAP EARLIER THIS MONTH, RESULTING IN THE OPENING OF AN OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE ROUTE IN BELTRAMI ISLAND STATE FOREST. THE TRADE WAS SOUGHT BY THE NORTH STAR TRAIL ALLIANCE, AND INVOLVED CONNECTING THE ELKWOOD ROAD AND MOREHOUSE ROAD.

THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL, THIS MONTH, APPROVED PAYING JUST OVER THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS IN DUES TO BELONG TO THE LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA CITIES; THE COUNCIL ALSO APPROVED A THIRTY DOLLAR MINNESOTA MAYORS ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP.
