THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA – CROOKSTON HAS BEEN NAMED ON OF THE BEST COLLEGES IN THE MIDWEST ACCORDING TO THE PRINCETON REVIEW, WHICH IS A NATIONALLY KNOWN EDUCATION SERVICES COMPANY. THE PUBLICATION NAMED 160 MIDWESTERN SCHOOLS IN TOTAL TO THAT LIST.



THE SUNSHINE HOSPITALITY HOME IN GRAND FORKS HAS BEEN OPEN SINCE JULY 9TH. SO FAR 38 GUESTS HAVE USED THE FACILITY, WITH AN AVERAGE STAY OF TWO AND A HALF NIGHTS. THEY’VE HAD GUESTS FROM AS FAR AWAY AS OHIO. THAT HOME WAS A JOINT FUNDRAISING EFFORT, AND WELCOMES INDIVIDUALS OR FAMILY MEMBERS WHO ARE IN GRAND FORKS FOR MEDICAL REASONS, AND IS A LOW COST OPTION COMPARED TO HOTELS.



THE FARMERS FOR FREE TRADE ASSOCIATION IS AT THE MINNESOTA FARMFEST THIS WEEK TO EXPLAIN TO THOSE ATTENDING WHY THE ESCALATING TRADE WAR IS BAD FOR AG STATES. THEIR ADVERTISING EFFORT “TARRIFS HURT THE HEARTLAND” INCLUDES TOWN HALL EVENTS IN VARIOUS STATES.
