THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL, THIS WEEK, TALKED ABOUT RECRUITING RESIDENTS TO ROSEAU. POLARIS INDUSTRIES AND MANY SMALL BUSINESSES IN THE AREA ARE STRUGGLING TO FIND EMPLOYEES AND THE PROBLEM OF TOO FEW PEOPLE IS SAID TO BE STATEWIDE. THERE WAS A QUESTION WHETHER LOCAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD PLAY A ROLE. COUNCIL MEMBER JANE EVANS SAID THERE SHOULD BE AN "AREA WIDE EFFORT." COUNCIL MEMBER PAT NOVACEK SAID THE CITY "SHOULD CONSIDER INCENTIVES FOR NEW RESIDENTS," AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR TODD PETERSON SAID "THE DIFFICULTY IS FINDING HOURLY EMPLOYEES."

THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM AT THE ROSEAU PUBLIC LIBRARY CONTINUES NEXT WEEK ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13, WITH WILD THINGS ZOO ATTRACTIONS.

ARCHERY IN THE PARK IS JUNE 28TH AT 1 PM AT HAYES LAKE STATE PARK. THAT'S HANDS-ON INSTRUCTION FROM CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR FOR BEGINNERS AGED EIGHT AND OLDER.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR SUSAN HAGE OF ROSEAU AND FORMERLY OF WARROAD WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY AT 10 AM AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU. VISITATION WILL BE ONE HOUR PRIOR. INTERNMENT WILL BE AT HALSTAD CEMETERY. SUSAN HAGE PASSED AWAY ON JUNE 4 AT THE AGE OF 57.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR MARY LYNN OLSON OF ROSEAU WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY AT 2 PM AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU. VISITATION WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY FROM 5-7 PM AT HELGESON FUNERAL HOME IN ROSEAU AND ALSO ONE HOUR TO THE SERVICE. INTERMENT WILL BE AT A LATER DATE. MARY LYNN PASSED AWAY ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6, AT THE AGE OF 57.

THERE WILL BE A CAR WASH FROM 12-5 IN THE AFTERNOON TODAY AT THE BADGER FIRE HALL.

THE CENEX C-STORE FOOD SERVICE WILL NOT BE OPEN TODAY. THEY'RE HOPING TO RE-OPEN OVER THE WEEKEND.
