THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL, THIS WEEK, APPROVED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT’S RELIEF ASSOCIATION’S VOTE TO INCREASE THE PER YEAR CONTRIBUTION FOR RETIRING VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS FROM EIGHTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS TO TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS.

THE COUNCIL ALSO APPROVED HIRING TWO NEW EMPLOYEES IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT; THERE WERE TWENTY-FIVE APPLICANTS.



DOCTOR KIMBERLY ONDO OF BAUDETTE SPOKE IN ROSEAU LAST NIGHT AT A GIRL SCOUTS FUNDRAISER.

THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD, YESTERDAY, HEARD FROM MONIQUE DURAY, WHO IS THE CAREGIVER SUPPORT AND RESPITE PROGRAM COORDINATOR FOR LUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICES. SHE SAID GROUP RESPITE CARE IS COMING TO ROSEAU COUNTY LATER THIS YEAR.



WARROAD SUMMER THEATRE HAS A SECOND ROUND OF AUDITIONS FRIDAY (3-7 PM) AT THE WARROAD HIGH SCHOOL MINI-THEATRE FOR “SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL”. DIRECTOR BONNIE NORDVALL SAYS NOT ENOUGH ADULTS TRIED OUT FOR PARTS AT AUDITIONS HELD LAST WEEKEND.

A GRAND FORKS HERALD REPORT SAYS THE GREENBUSH-MIDDLE RIVER SCHOOL BOARD HAS VOTED 5-2 TO CLOSE THE MIDDLE RIVER SCHOOL THIS SUMMER.
G-MR SUPERINTENDENT TOM JEROME SAYS THE CLOSURE WILL SAVE THE DISTRICT MORE THAN FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS.
