TOM JEROME, SUPERINTENDENT OF BADGER AND GREENBUSH-MIDDLE RIVER SCHOOLS, HAS WON A FOUR-YEAR TERM FOR THE MINNESOTA STATE HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. HE'LL REPRESENT REGIONS 7A & 8A, AND HIS TERM WILL START ON AUGUST 1ST.

AARON COOK OF WIN-E-MAC, AND CHRIS MILLS OF STEPHEN-ARGYLE WERE THE OTHER CANDIDATES.



A DANCE IS TOMORROW AFTERNOON, AT 2:00, AT THE FOUR SEASONS SENIOR CENTER IN ROSEAU. BILL AND JACKIE FORBISTER WILL PROVIDE THE MUSIC.



A POTATO DUMPLING SUPPER IS SUNDAY (4:30-7:00) AT THE MALUNG COMMUNITY CENTER.



A SPAGHETTI DINNER BENEFIT FOR JENNIFER SHEPARD IS NEXT SUNDAY AT THE WARROAD EAGLES CLUB FROM 11:00-2:00. PROCEEDS HELP WITH MEDICAL EXPENSES IN A FIGHT AGAINST CANCER.



A STUDENT VOTE WILL DETERMINE THE LOOK OF NEW MASCOT FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA. THEY HAVE A $32,000 CONTRACT WITH AN OHIO COMPANY TO COME UP WITH IDEAS FOR THE FIGHTING HAWK. THEY HOPE TO SAVE THE FIRST OF THOSE WITHIN A MONTH. STUDENTS WILL THEN VOTE ONLINE.
