THE ROSEAU SCHOOL BOARD MEETS IN SPECIAL SESSION THIS EVENING. AMONG OTHER BUSINESS, THEY’RE EXPECTED TO RATIFY A TWO YEAR CONTRACT WITH THE ROSEAU TEACHERS ASSOCIATION.



THE ROSEAU V.F.W. POST AND AUXILIARY HAVE THEIR REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING THIS EVENING (6:30 PM).



A BILL IN THE MINNESOTA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES WOULD OFFER TAX CREDITS TO HOMEOWNERS WHO SWITCH TO HIGH EFFICIENCY HEATING APPLIANCES. SEVERAL MINNESOTA-BASED BIOMASS HEATING SYSTEM MANUFACTURERS SUPPORT THE PLAN, INCLUDING CENTRAL BOILER IN GREENBUSH.

C.E.O. DENNIS BRAZIER TESTIFIED AT A HOUSE COMMITTEE HEARING LAST WEEK, SAYING ADVANCED WOOD HEATING SYSTEMS ARE CLEAN AND EFFICIENT, “BUT NOT YET MAINSTREAM”.



LIFECARE MEDICAL CENTER OF ROSEAU HAS BEEN NAMED ONE OF THE TOP ONE HUNDRED CRITICAL ACCESS HOSPITALS IN THE UNITED STATES,
BY THE CHARTIS CENTER FOR RURAL HEALTH.
THERE ARE MORE THAN THIRTEEN HUNDRED CRITICAL ACCESS HOSPITALS IN THE U.S. THE RANKINGS ARE BASED ON SEVERAL FACTORS, INCLUDING COST, QUALITY AND OUTCOMES.



A SPAGHETTI FUNDRAISER FOR THE STATE TOURNAMENT BOUND ROSEAU GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM IS THIS EVENING (5-7:30 PM) AT GENE’S IN ROSEAU.
PROCEEDS GO TO THE ROSEAU BASKETBALL BOOSTERS, TO SUPPORT ALL LEVELS OF THE ROSEAU GIRLS AND BOYS BASKETBALL PROGRAMS.



THERE ARE FORTY-FOUR VOTING PRECINCTS IN ROSEAU COUNTY, AND THE WAY THOSE PRECINCTS ARE CASTING BALLOTS IS CHANGING. MORE THAN HALF OF THOSE PRECINCTS ARE NOW CASTING BALLOTS BY MAIL.
MOST OF THE REMAINING ARE AT COMBINED POLLING PLACES; CITY OF ROSEAU VOTERS ARE AT THE CITY CENTER, ALONG WITH THE TOWNSHIPS OF JADIS AND ROSS.

THERE ARE FIVE REMAINING STAND-ALONE POLLING PLACES IN THE TOWNSHIPS OF LAKE, ENSTROM, LAONA, MORANVILLE AND MALUNG.



THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL, LAST WEEK, HEARD THAT THE CITY CENTER NEEDS AN AUDIO EQUIPMENT UPGRADE. THE COUNCIL AGREED TO SPEND ABOUT SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR THAT UPGRADE, AND DELAY A PROPOSED PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT MICROPHONES.



ROSEAU COUNTY FAIR BOARD SECRETARY RICHARD MAGNUSSON MET WITH THE ROSEAU COUNTY BOARD LAST MONTH, SAYING THE 2017 FAIR WENT OFF ALMOST PERFECTLY.

THIS YEAR’S ROSEAU COUNTY FAIR STARTS JULY 15TH.
