THE SUBSECTION 8AA GIRLS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT STARTS TONIGHT. ROSEAU IS THE 2ND SEED IN THE NORTH AND HOST 7TH SEED WARROAD.



IN SECTION 8A GIRLS PLAYOFFS, LAKE OF THE WOODS TRAVELS TO KELLIHER.

ON THE WEST HALF OF THE BRACKET, TOP SEED STEPHEN-ARGYLE PLAYS WARREN; WHILE FIVE-SEED KITTSON COUNTY CENTRAL FACES RED LAKE FALLS. THOSE GAMES ARE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA IN CROOKSTON. GAMES PLAYED IN THIEF RIVER FALLS AT NCTC FEATURE 2ND SEEDED BGMR AND FERTILE-BELTRAMI; WHILE SACRED HEART PLAYS THE NORTHERN FREEZE.



8A BOYS BASKETBALL SEEDING WAS ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY. LAKE OF THE WOODS IS NUMBER 9 AND HAS A PLAY-IN GAME ON MONDAY AT CLEARBROOK-GONVICK. THE WINNER WOULD FACE TOP SEED CASS LAKE. ALSO IN THE EAST, GOODRIDGE-GRYGLA IS NUMBER 7 AND PLAYS AT FOSSTON NEXT THURSDAY.

IN THE WEST, BGMR IS THE 8TH SEED AND HOSTS A PLAY-IN GAME WITH NORMAN COUNTY WEST, WHILE 6TH SEED THE NORTHERN FREEZE WILL HOST CLIMAX FISHER.

TEAMS WAITING UNTIL THURSDAY TO PLAY INCLUDE FIVE SEED STEPHEN-ARGYLE WHO WILL PLAY FOUR-SEED KITTSON CENTRAL IN CROOKSTON.



ST. MICHAEL – ALBERTVILLE UPSET TOP SEED MOORHEAD 6-5 IN THE SECTION 8AA BOYS HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE SANFORD CENTER IN BEMIDJI.

IN CLASS A, PERENNIAL POWERHOUSE HERMANTOWN NEEDED DOUBLE OVERTIME TO BEAT GREENWAY 5-4 IN SECTION 7.

THE SECTION 8A CHAMPIONSHIP IS TONIGHT IN WARROAD, FEATURING EAST GRAND FORKS AND THIEF RIVER FALLS.
