AN INFORMATIONAL MEETING ON THE WORLD PLOUGHING COMPETITION IS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON (1:30 PM) AT THE LAKE OF THE WOODS HISTORICAL SOCIETY IN BAUDETTE.

LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY WILL HOST THAT COMPETITION IN AUGUST OF 2019; THE 2018 COMPETITION IS IN GERMANY.



THE ROSEAU CITY COUNCIL, LAST WEEK, HEARD THAT THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE RECENTLY SENT A LETTER TO THE CITY SAYING U.S.P.S. WILL NOT ALLOW INDIVIDUAL MAILBOXES FOR ANY NEW HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS; BUT RATHER WILL INSTALL CLUSTER MAILBOXES, AND HOMEOWNERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THOSE CLUSTER BOXES.



A STAKEHOLDER GROUP (INCLUDING FOLKS FROM THE D.N.R., THE CITY OF ROSEAU, ROSEAU COUNTY AND LIFECARE MEDICAL CENTER) RECENTLY MET AT THE ROSEAU RIVER WATERSHED OFFICE TO TALK ABOUT A PROPOSED ROSEAU RIVER TRAIL.

TRACY HALSTENSGARD IS THE ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE WATERSHED DISTRICT; SHE SAYS ONE OF THE OBJECTIVES WOULD BE TO PROMOTE THE ROSEAU RIVER AS A TRAIL OF REGIONAL SIGNIFICANCE.

THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE ROSEAU COUNTY TOWNSHIP OFFICERS ASSOCIATION IS FEBRUARY 27TH (7 PM) AT THE ROSEAU CITY CENTER.



THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IS INCREASING THE SPEED LIMIT ON SEVERAL NORTHERN MINNESOTA HIGHWAYS, FROM FIFTY-FIVE TO SIXTY MILES PER HOUR.

THEY INCLUDE HIGHWAY 310 FROM ROSEAU TO THE CANADIAN BORDER; HIGHWAY 172 FROM BAUDETTE TO WHEELER’S POINT; HIGHWAY 34 FROM DETROIT LAKES TO PARK RAPIDS; AND HIGHWAY 64 IN THE AKELEY AREA (FROM HIGHWAY 200 TO HIGHWAY 87).
