THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIR STARTS IN JUST OVER TWO WEEKS IN FALCON HEIGHTS, AND THEY’RE HAVING A HARDER-THAN-NORMAL TIME FINDING WORKERS.

AN ESTIMATED FIFTY-FIVE HUNDRED PART-TIME JOBS ARE CREATED BY THE MINNESOTA FAIR.
THE PROBLEM MAY BE THAT THERE ARE SO MANY MINIMUM WAGE JOB OPENINGS IN THE STATE.



SOME RIGHT-OF-WAY CLEARANCE WORK IS EXPECTED TO START THIS WINTER ON SEGMENT ONE OF MINNESOTA POWER’S GREAT NORTHERN TRANSMISSION LINE.
SEGMENT ONE INCLUDES ALL OF ROSEAU COUNTY.
SIMILAR WORK STARTED LAST WINTER IN LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY.

IT’S EXPECTED THAT HIGH VOLTAGE POWER LINE WILL BE IN OPERATION BY 2020; BUT JIM ATKINSON, WITH MINNESOTA POWER, SAYS THE TIME CONSUMING PART OF THE PROJECT ISN’T NECESSARILY CONSTRUCTION.
